SportDog Deluxe Beeper Locator Collar
As opposed to a dog training collar, this collar will help you know when your dog is pointing birds, even when you can’t see it. The SportDog DSL-400 beeper locator is the smallest and lightest beeper on the market. Choose from high or low volume, three beep-duration settings and four tones. The SportDog Deluxe Beeper Locator uses a 3-volt lithium battery (Included) that provides hundreds of hours of “on” time. We even give you a battery-check function so you won’t get caught with a dead battery. Our lightweight beeper fits most 1-inch-wide collar straps, so you can put it on or take it off as needed.
The SportDog Deluxe Beeper has the following options for continuous beeping you hear when a dog is on point. When the dog is running, you have the choice of (1) silent mode; (2) 5-second beep duration; or (3) 10-second beep duration. Setting Number 4 is the battery-check.
- Standard Beep (S)
- Hawk Scream (H)
- Bobwhite Call (B)
- Trill Tone (T)
- Battery Check (4)
Need Home for Two Wonderful Dogs!
My friend has two wonderful Australian Shepherds that he has to give up. They are both four year old. One is a black tri-color neutered male, Zeus, who weighs about 75 pounds, and the other is a red tri-color female, Cassie, who weighs about 40 pounds. They are both great dogs – loyal, protective, devoted to each other. The red-tricolor comes from a working dog backgound and could be trained to herd, although she has not been exposed to that since she was a puppy. They really need to stay together and he and I would be willing to drive them to their new home if it is not too far from Arizona. Pictures of them are below. If any of you are interested in giving these two dogs a good home, please contact me at 480-239-7423.

One of the basics of dog training is that you should reward your dog every time he does what you ask of him. Positive reinforcement, when repeated over and over again, gives your dog an incentive to keep doing a desired action – sitting, staying, lying down, etc. The easiest reward and perhaps strongest incentive is food. A dog will pretty much do anything for a treat, and the promise of food is attractive enough to keep following commands.
